MAG BAY TRIPS SCHEDULED FOR NOV. 14-20, 21-27, AND 28-DEC. 4 (FULL). CHECK WITH THE OFFICE REGARDING OPENINGS.
PRICE IS $1,350 PER PERSON. 20 PEOPLE ONLY ON EACH TRIP. PRICE INCLUDES ROUND-TRIP GROUND FROM AND TO LORETO AIRPORT. AIRFARE IS EXTRA - RIGHT NOW, ROUND-TRIP FROM LAX TO LORETO IS $350. IF YOU WISH TO DRIVE DOWN, YOUR SECURE PARKING WILL BE INCLUDED.
You will depart Los Angeles at 11:30 a.m. and fly into Loreto on Friday afternoon - a bus will take you from the airport to Puerto San Carlos, only 130 miles across the Baja peninsula on the Pacific side, at Magdalena Bay. You will board the mothership and set sail Friday evening so you will be fishing Saturday morning. You will have 6 full days of fishing. The Andrea Lynn will then return to port the following Friday morning very early, to allow you to take the bus back to the Loreto airport for your 3:15 p.m. flight home. Currently, we are recommending Alaska Airlines because of their flight schedule.
At Magdalena Bay you will fish at the Entrada, Bahia Santa Maria, Thetis Bank (weather and wind permitting) and any other 'hotspots' at that particular time. Usual catch for November in that area is Dorado, Yellowtail, yellowfin tuna, wahoo, marlin, as well as grouper and large cabrilla. For those who wish to fish the mangroves, on the last day the boat will be in the area of the mangroves. Remember, you will be limited to between 50 and 75 lb. of fish in a small ice chest on the plane.
If you wish to drive to Mag Bay, it is a good two-day drive. Depart San Diego early in the morning, plan to stay at Guerrero Negro that evening, and go on to Puerto San Carlos the next day. There is a secure place to park your vehicle at the pier, with 24 hour watchers. The bonus of driving is that you can bring your entire catch home.
Each day when you bring in your catch, after it is chilled, it is filleted, put in your ziplock bag with your name on it, and frozen, so you can take only the prime filets home with you. Some people like to bring their vaccuum sealers from home and seal their fish as they are filleted. You are welcome to do that. |
