Places visited: Puerto Refugio (No. end of Isla del Angel de la Guardia), Punto Diablo, Isla Vibora, Cardonoza, Bahia Animas, La Asemblea, Bahia Luis Gonzaga, Las Islas Encantadas. One sight I personally have never witnessed before in 19 years of fishing in the Sea of Cortez (although I know it probably happens frequently), was the way the birds were diving in an area where a lot of yellowtail were caught. It was as if they hovered above the bait ball, then from the center of the flock, they just folded their wings and dove into a hole in the water. It lasted for quite awhile, and was repeated numerous times. The weather was very hot and humid most of the time. Thank goodness for the air-conditioned staterooms. |
